about the author
sally flora-french
Sally Flora-French is a versatile artist, author, and photographer based in Wagoner, Oklahoma. A Tulsa native and Will Rogers High School alumna, she draws inspiration from the art-deco architecture of her youth. Known for her creativity, Sally works across various mediums, including watercolors, ceramics, bronze, photography, and children’s stories. In 1983, her art was displayed internationally at the Salon of Nations in Paris.
Sally’s talents extend to poetry, acting, teaching sign language, and even founding The Wagoner Playhouse, where she directed and acted in numerous productions. She has also worked as a balloon deliverer, magician, and foster parent, all while pursuing her passion for art. Retiring from Wagoner Courthouse after completing its digital mapping project, she now focuses on writing and sculpting alongside her beloved Yorkies.
A certified scuba diver for over 50 years, Sally is a dedicated traveler and philanthropist. In 2007, she raised funds for women’s healthcare through her life-sized fiberglass torsos. Her motto, “To achieve the possible, you must attempt the impossible,” reflects her visionary spirit. Explore her work at sallyflorafrench.com and enjoy her humorous “Sally’s Sagas” on Facebook.
